An immersive experience of Rajasthani culture, folk music, colour and cuisine.
The couple exchange flower garlands, then take the seven sacred vows around the holy fire.
The reception, where family and friends come to bless the newlyweds, share a meal and take a photograph with the couple.
We have suggestions, you have free will. But here is a little help for each day.
Colourful pastels or brights, dress like a bloom. There will be flowers.
Cocktail dress and your best shoes or heels. Glam and a little shimmery, but comfy enough to actually own the dance floor.
Traditional Rajasthani or Indian, lean right into the desert colour. Bandhani, bright hues and mirror-work all very welcome.
Traditional. Bring out the finery, your most beautiful Indian attire for the vows and the celebration that follows.
A note from the desert: December days in Jaisalmer are sunny and mild, but the nights turn genuinely cold, so carry a shawl or a light layer for the evenings. Much of the fun is outdoors on sand and lawn, so pick footwear that won't sink: block heels, wedges, juttis or flats over stilettos.
Jaisalmer, the Golden City, rises from the Thar desert, its sandstone fort and havelis aglow at sunrise and sunset. Founded in 1156 on the old Silk Route, it is a living desert fairy-tale of carved mansions, camel trails and golden dunes.
The living golden fort at sunset.
Ornate carved sandstone mansions.
A calm morning boat ride.
Sunset camel rides and a jeep safari over the golden dunes.
Royal cenotaphs, lovely at sunset.
The famous abandoned village.
Mojari, mirror-work & textiles.
Rajasthani thali & folk music evenings.
Direct flight to Jaisalmer, or fly via Delhi or Mumbai.
You can also fly to Jodhpur, Jaipur or Ahmedabad and take a car, train or sleeper bus.
If you are already in Rajasthan, you can also drive.
